Govt, voluntary organisations to work together to tackle COVID-19 crisis
DHAKA, April 19, 2020(BSS) – The Social Services Department and
voluntary organisations will work together to tackle the ongoing
coronavirus crisis in the country.
The decision was taken at a meeting between the officials of the
department and representatives of the voluntary organisations at the
department’s auditorium here.
There are about 56,000 registered voluntary organisations, clubs and
associations across the country under the Social Services Department,
a press release said.
At the meeting, the representatives of these organisations agreed to
work in coordination with the department to provide food assistance
and treatment for the poor and distressed people amid the ongoing
COVID-19 crisis.
Social Services Department director general Sheikh Rabiul Islam
presided over the meeting, the release added.
