Mymensingh placed on lockdown

MYMENSINGH, Apr 14, 2020 (BSS) – The district administration today announced that Mymensingh has been placed on lockdown until further notice to contain the spread of coronavirus in the region.

Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Md Mizanur Rahman issued a directive in this regard around 5.00pm this (Tuesday) afternoon.

Under the directive, no vehicles, except the emergency services will be allowed to ply in the district during the lockdown period.

No one will be allowed to enter Mymensingh from other districts or leave Mymensingh during the lockdown, the directive also read, adding that road and water communications between Mymensingh and other districts will also remain suspended until further notice.

The inter-upazila communication in the district will also remain suspended during the lockdown period.

No one will be allowed to come out of their houses after 6pm, the directive also read adding “Legal steps will be taken against those found violating the directive”.

The directive also prohibited all sorts of public gathering and asked all to maintain social distancing..
