One more coronavirus positive case in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, April 13, 2020 (BSS) – One more coronavirus infected case
has been confirmed here today raising the total positive cases to two
in the district.
Existence of the virus has been spotted after testing samples at
the COVID-19 Laboratory in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital here this
afternoon.
Afterwards, the house of the infected person at Jatragachhi village
under Bagmara Upazila was kept on lockdown.
Rajshahi Civil Surgeon Dr Enamul Haque said the 25-year-old youth
returned back to his house from a garment factory in Narayangonj on
April 6 last.
Since then he was in home quarantine. His sample was sent to the
laboratory on April 11 last on suspicion and the positive result came
in today’s test.
Dr Haque said there were no visible symptoms in his body and he’s
physically fit but he is in isolation in his house at present.
The Civil Surgeon said the whereabouts of the persons who came in
contact with the positive patient are being brought to notice and they
were also asked to remain in home quarantine so that the virus cannot
further spread.
Ataur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Bagmara Police Station, said
police were sent to the house soon after receiving a message of the
confirmation case and the house was kept on lockdown.
Earlier on Sunday, another positive case was detected in Puthiya Upazila.
