No mural of Bangabandhu without permission: Quader

DHAKA, March 5, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said setting up of Bangabandhu’s mural without taking permission from Bangabandhu Memorial Trust would not be allowed.

He said this while exchanging views with leaders of AL districts units and cities adjacent to Dhaka ahead of the celebration of Mujib Year at AL Bangabandhu Avenue central office here.

Quader said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given directives to refrain from any sorts of excessiveness in the name of observing programmes for Mujib Year.

“Everyone should remain alert to this end,” he told asking the leaders and workers to avoid using own photos in banners for Mujib Year.

Quader said AL is a big political party which could have smaller flaws. “We will have to keep our firm unity during the celebration of Mujib Year,” he added. He asked the party leaders and workers to get rid of wrangling.

The AL general secretary said there is an evil force which could not accept Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The force is that clique which distorted country’s history, he added.

Quader said the evil force had perpetrated the assassination of Bangabandhu and rewarded the killers by rehabilitating them.

“This evil force banned Bangabandhu in observance of Independence Day and Victory Day. They also banned the playing of record of the landmark speech of Bangabandhu of March 7 which was later recognized by the UNESCO,” he said.

He said they are not only plotters of August 15 carnage but also masterminds of different stigmatized chapters of the country’s history.

AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam and Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua were present on the occasion, among others.
