Monash University keen to be ACC’s academic partner

DHAKA, Mar 5, 2020 (BSS) – Monash University, one of the top universities
in Australia, has expressed its interest to provide technological support to
the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in conducting anti-corruption programmes
in Bangladesh.

The interest came when a five-member delegation of the university, led by
director of its Centre for Organisational and Social Informatics (COSI)
Gillian Oliver and Dr Larry Steelman, called on ACC chairman Iqbal Mahmood at
the ACC head office here today.

During the meeting, they discussed various bilateral issues related to ICT
and technology.

At the onset of the meeting, Dr Larry Steelman said they were informed from
various sources that the Bangladesh anti-graft agency was carrying out many
creative and praiseworthy activities to check graft in the country.

“We have opportunity to take part in these activities for technological
development,” he added.

Welcoming the delegation of Monash University, Iqbal Mahmood said if a
famous education institution like Monash University becomes academic partner
of ACC, it will help the national anti-graft watchdog carry out innovative
and creative programmes against corruption.
