CCGP approves 6 proposals

DHAKA, Feb 19, 2020 (BSS) – The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase
(CCGP) today approved a total of six proposals including three proposals for
procuring indispensible machineries and equipment for Mongla Port.

The approvals came from a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government
Purchase held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at Bangladesh
Secretariat today with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.

Briefing the reporters after the meeting, Kamal said Maxon Power Limited,
Dhaka would provide three mobile harbor cranes and its ancillary equipments
for handling 14 series container-laden gearless vessel under lot number 1 and
package number 1 with Taka 125.44 crore.

He said the Maxon Power Limited would supply two tyre mounted multipurpose
cranes having capacity of 50 metric tons for per crane with 10-meter working
radius under lot number 2 and package number 1 with a cost of Taka 57.19
crore.

The Finance Minister said the same Maxon Power Limited would supply
another two mobile cranes with ancillary materials having capacity of 30
metric tons for per crane having a five meter working radius under lot number
3 and package number 1 with Taka 11.88 crore.

Kamal said alongside the Chattogram Port, the government is modernizing
the Mongla Port. Besides, two more deep sea ports will be built at Matarbari
and Payra.

He said when these ports would operate in full swing, then connectivity
would be enhanced with the Indian seven sister states as well as with Nepal
and Bhutan.

The Finance Minister said the day’s CCGP meeting also approved a proposal
for appointing GSS Info Tech Limited, India and Nominated Sub-Consultant
Dohatec New Media, Bangladesh for implementing the “Bangladesh: e-GP System
Enhancement, Operation and Maintenance (EOM)” with Taka 85.17 crore.

He said after the introduction of the e-GP system, the tendering process
has come into a disciplined way.

The meeting also approved a proposal for procuring “Interoperable Digital
Transaction Platform (IDTP) Services” from Orion Informatics Limited,
Microsoft Bangladesh Ltd, Fintech Solutions Ltd and Sain Ventures Ltd under a
joint venture with Taka 54.95 crore under the iDEA project.

It also approved a proposal for conducting the works under a package of
Development of Sheola Land Port by the MM Builders & Engineers Ltd, M/S Anik
Trading Corporation (JV) Bangladesh with Taka 123.78 crore.
