Preparations for Bangabandhu’s centenary at final stage: Kamal Naser

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2020 (BSS) – Chief Coordinator of Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury today said all preparations are nearing completion to hold the inaugural ceremony of the celebration at National Parade Square at Tajgaon here.

He said this while presiding over a coordination meeting at Bangladesh Air Force’s “Ghati Bashar” conference room near to National Parade Square.

They discussed different issues, including setting up of pandal, sitting arrangement of guests and visitors, entry management of guests and visitors, vehicle parking, recruiting of volunteers and publicity of the programme.

During the meeting, chiefs of implementing agencies and offices gave an overview of the works progress.

The chief coordinator extended greetings to Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket Team for clinching the maiden ICC U-19 World Cup title.

Kamal said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called the victory of Bangladesh in the ICC Under-19 World Cup a gift for the nation in the Mujib Borsho.

“This achievement will also encourage us in our colorful celebration of the Mujib Year,” he said.

Former minister Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, Armed Forces Division Principal Staff Officer Lieutenant General Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Air Vice Marshal Md Nazrul Islam, Housing and Public Works Secretary Md Shahid Ullah Khandker, Information Secretary Kamrun Nahar, Special Security Force (SSF) Director General (DG) Major General Md Majibur Rahman, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) DG Benazir Ahmed, Police Headquarters Additional Inspector General (Admin) Md Mainur Rahman Chowdhury, BTV DG SM Harun-or-Rashid, Public Works Department Chief Engineer Md Ashraful Alam, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Director General (Admin) Md Khalilur Rahman and representatives of different ministries, divisions and organizations were present at the meeting.
