Service week on Mujib Year in London mission

DHAKA, Jan 30, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh High Commission in London will observe a special service week marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Bangladesh High Commissioner in London Saida Muna Tasneem disclosed the information at a function titled ‘Dialogue with High Commissioner’ organized by London-Bangladesh Press Club on Tuesday, said a press release of Bangladesh High Commission in London received here today.

London-Bangladesh Press Club President Mohammad Emdadul Haque Chowdhury presided over the function that was attended by 300 members of the club.

Muna said the delivery of the regular services, which are provided by the London mission, will be expedited during the service week titled “Mujib 100: a Special Service Week”.

On the occasion of the ‘Mujib Year’ from March 17, 2020 to March 17, 2021, the mission will organize different programmes at the historic cities bearing the memories of Bangabandhu, she added.

Noting that different electronic services have been launched in different consulate branches along with a 24-hour mobile helpline in the mission to improve the quality of the services, the High Commissioner said about 300 people receive their required services through the helpline daily. The people also receive services through e-mail, she added.

Muna said along with improving the service quality of the mission, 30 programmes were held marking different occasions, including the national days.

In the functions, Bangladesh’s history, heritages and unprecedented development took place in the country’s socioeconomic sector under the leadership of Prime minister Sheikh Hasina were projected before the Bangladesh-origin-British.

At the outset of the event, Press Minister of Bangladesh High Commission in London Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury thanked the British-Bangladeshi journalists for the effective publicity of Bangladeshi news, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the High Commission in London.
