Black painting on headlights to avert road accidents

RANGPUR, Jan 28, 2020 (BSS) – In order to avert road accidents, Hatibandha upazila administration of Lalmonirhat district today launched a unique programme of black painting on headlights of all vehicles operating on the roads and highways in the upazila.

The Hatibandha upazila administration adopted the programme to paint one-third portion of the white LED headlights of all vehicles considering the number of road accidents recorded in the upazila in recent times.

With the assistance of the members of Hatibandha Upazila Scouts, the upazila administration conducted the programme of black paining of one-third of the white LED lights of the vehicles simultaneously at 15 different road accident-prone points in the upazila.

Hatibandha Upazila Chairman Mashiur Rahman Mamun, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Samiul Amin, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shamima Sultana, Officer-in-Charge of Hatibandha Thana Omar Faruk, Headmaster of SS Government High School Rezaul Karim, Headmaster of Shah Garibullah Secondary School Tahibar Rahman, Secretary of Hatibandha Upazila Scouts Manjur Hossain Monju joined the programme.

On the occasion, members of the scouts stopped different types of vehicles and painted one-third of the white LED lights with black colour paint.

Members of the scouts, officials and teachers also informed the drivers and helpers of vehicles about positive impacts of the paining.
