Petition filed seeking cancellation of Tabith Awal’s candidature
DHAKA, Jan 26, 2020 (BSS) – A writ petition was filed today pleading to cancel candidacy of BNP’s mayoral candidate for the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) polls Tabith Awal in the upcoming city polls to be held on February 1.
An ex-Judge of the Appellate Division Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik filed the writ as Tabith allegedly concealed information regarding his assets in his affidavit.
The High Court division bench may hold hearing on the writ petition tomorrow.
A total of four persons including Tabith and Election Commission (EC) were made respondents in this regard.
