Ratan gives confessional statement in Kamranagichar rape case
DHAKA, Jan 12, 2020 (BSS) – Main accused in the case filed over a gang-rape of 13-year-old girl in Kamrangirchar area today gave confessional statement before the court.
Police today produced main accused Md Ratan, 18, before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Kamrangirchar Police Station Inspector Sikder Mohitul Alam pleaded for recording the statement of Ratan.
Upon the plea, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Habibur Rahman recorded his statement.
After recording statement, the court ordered to send him to jail.
Earlier, Ratan was arrested on Saturday.
Other accused in the case Hasan, Sifat and Sabuj gave statements before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Saturday.
After hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Millat Hossain granted one-day remand for each of them.
Besides, the magistrate also gave order to send the rape victim’s friend, who was arrested on Friday, to jail on a police plea.
The 13-year-old girl was gang-raped on Thursday in Kamrangirchar area.
