JS body for installing locomotive camera to prevent accident
DHAKA, Jan 12, 2020 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on
Ministry of Railways today discussed about the setting up of locomotive cc camera to prevent train accidents.
The installation of 44 broad-gauge diesel electric locomotive engine cabs has been included in the Rolling Stock Operation Development Project.
The committee came up with the observations at its 8th meeting at the
Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with Committee Chairman ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury in the chair, said a press release.
Committee members– Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon, Shafiqul Azam Khan, Md. Saifuzzaman, Gazi Mohammad Shahnawaz and Begum Nadia Yasmin Joly–attended the meeting.
The meeting also discussed about the progress of eviction of those who are financially damaging the railways property through setting up illegal structures on the railways land.
The eviction drives are being conducted on a regular basis and in the last six months 175.20 acres of railways land have been recovered, the meeting was told.
Director General of Bangladesh Railway, Secretary of the Standing Committee on Railways Ministry and high officials of the ministry and the Parliament Secretariat were present at the meeting.
