Six juveniles repatriated thru’ Hili Check Post

RANGPUR, Aug 02, 2017 (BSS) – Six Bangladeshi juveniles were repatriated through Hili Immigration Check Post (ICP) under Hakimpur upazila in Dinajpur today after completion of their jail term at an Indian Juvenile Home for illegal intrusion.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hili ICP at Hili border under Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur Aftab Hossain received the juveniles on the zero line from his counterpart OC of Indian Hili ICP Nazir Hossain, officials sources said.

“Officials of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) were present on the occasion,” said OC Aftab Hossain.

The repatriated juveniles, aged between 11 and 17 years, are Nazmul Haque, Swadhin Hossain, Sohag Sheikh, Munna Sheikh, Sagar Chandra Roy and Abdur Rahman hailing from Kurigram, Faridpur and Dinajpur districts.

Earlier, the repatriated juveniles, who illegally entered Indian territories through different neighboring borders, were detained by the Indian BSF and handed over to Indian police one to one and a half years back.

Later, as per order on Indian courts, they were sent to Juvenile Home in West Dinajpur district of West Bengal where they had to live for eight to 16 months before repatriation.

After completing legal process, the Hili ICP authorities handed over the repatriated Bangladeshis to their respective guardians this afternoon.
