DHAKA, Dec 3, 2019 (BSS) – Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi today urged the businessmen to make profit logically.

“We have crisis . . . but you (businessmen) should make profit ethically, logically,” he said while addressing a view-exchange meeting organised by the Industry and Commerce Affairs Sub-Committee of Awami League (AL) in a city hotel.

“Crisis would not continue forever rather we must overcome (Insha Allah) but received a good lesson from it,” said Tipu Munshi, also the AL Finance and Planning Secretary, regarding the ongoing onion crisis.

He said attaining self-sufficiency would be the main tool to solve the onion crisis permanently. “Bangladesh would be self-reliance in onion production within next three years,” he added.

AL Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak and AL Industry and Commerce Secretary Abdus Sattar also spoke on the occasion with Industry and Commerce Affairs Sub-Committee Chairman Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed in the chair.

Requesting the businessmen to extend cooperation, Jahangir Kabir Nanak said Awami League as a responsible political party could not stand idle while instability is going on in the market.
