Int’l Conference on Environment begins tomorrow
DHAKA, Nov 26, 2019 (BSS) – A two-day international ‘Conference on Environmental Solutions for Sustainable Development: Towards Developed Bangladesh’ (CESSD 2019) would start tomorrow.
Bangladesh Awami League (AL) sub-committee for forests and environment is organising the conference with the theme ‘green environment for sustainable future’, said a press release.
Forest and environment affairs secretary of AL revealed the information at a press briefing at AL President Dhanmondi political office this evening.
“It will be first conference in Bangladesh. We believe that Bangladesh will be an environment-friendly country soon,” he said.
Professor emeritus Dr Ainun Nishat will be present as theme speaker.
Besides, environment scientists from 20 countries including America, Japan, China, Australia and Malaysia will be present at the conference.
The inaugural session will be held at Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Dhaka University campus tomorrow.
Another session will be held on November 28 at the auditorium of Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) in the capital where the discussions will be held on 22 different scientific issues.
