Speaker for ensuring universal health care
DHAKA, Nov 16, 2019 (BSS) – With people getting better health care services than any time in the past, it is now an imperative to make united efforts for achieving the target of universal health care.
Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury stated this today, applauding the present government for achieving a commendable success in the health sector.
“Under the leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the introduction of community clinics across the country is an epoch-making step” she said.
She continued at present, health services are being provided at the grassroots level through 13,000 community clinics across the country.
The Speaker was addressing as chief guest the 5th founding anniversary of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited Thyrocare Bangladesh Limited at Pearl Trade Centr in the city.
She wished success of the Thyrocare Bangladesh Limited and urged them to expand its branches in eight divisional cities of the country.
Shirin Sharmin said the benefits of health sector development must reach to the grassroots level. The role of the pathologists is very important in delivering services to the doorsteps of the people, she added.
Later, 11 students received `Thyrocare Niaz Morshed Leadership Scholarship Award’ from the Speaker. Each student is given a cheque for Tk. one lakh.
