“Badal was vocal against corruption, communalism”

DHAKA, Nov 12, 2019 (BSS) – Speakers at a memorial meeting today lauded
the political contribution of learned parliamentarian and valiant freedom
fighter Moinuddin Khan Badal saying he always spoke against corruption and
communalism in parliament.

The meeting was held at the main auditorium of Institute of Diploma
Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) at Kakrail in the capital under the arrangement
of Central 14-party Alliance.

“Badal delivered informative, strong and logical statements in parliament
all the time and believed in non-communal politics,” they said.

With Awami League (AL) presidium member and Central 14-party Alliance
Spokesman Mohammed Nasim in the chair, the discussion was addressed, among
others, by AL Advisory Council Member Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, AL Presidium
Member Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASHOD)
President Hasanul Haq Inu, Workers’ Party President Rashed Khan Menon,
Tariqat Federation President Alhaj Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari and AL
Information and Research Affairs’ Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain.

Recalling the veteran parliamentarian’s political life, the central 14-
party alliance spokesman Mohammed Nasim said he (Badal) always dreamt of a
country free from corruption and communalism.

He always worked to keep the 14-party united and came forward in many
crucial times of the platform, he added.

His robust voice always made parliament vibrant as he was a learned
parliamentarian, said Awami League Presidium Member Engineer Khandaker
Mosharraf Hossain.

JASHOD President Hasanul Haq Inu said Badal witnessed many historical
events of Bangladesh.

“He valiantly participated in all progressive movements of the country and
never looked back. The political arena of our country will always recall
Badal with due respect,” Inu said.

Badal, the executive president of a faction of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal
(JSD) passed away at a hospital in Bangalore in India recently at the age of
67.

He was elected lawmaker, thrice, from Chattogram-8 constituency.
