Minority leaders thank Ahmad Shafi for protecting communal harmony
DHAKA, Oct 28, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad today thanked Hefajat-e-Islam Ameer Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi for playing a pivotal role in protecting peace, amity and harmony in Chattogram during the recent ‘communal clash’ at Borhanuddin area in Bhola.
A four-member delegation of the Parishad led by its General Secretary Advocate Rana Das Gupta expressed gratitude to Shafi on behalf of the religious minority people when they met him at Hathazari Darul Ulum Mainul Islam Madrasha in Chattogram this afternoon, said a press release signed by Oikya Parishad’s Organizing Secretary Uttam Chakraborty.
The delegation also sought doa from the Hefajat chief for the protection of communal harmony in future while Allama Shafi offered doa to the delegation.
Other members of the delegation are central advisory council member Indu Nandan Dutta, Chattogram district committee vice-president Dr Govinda Prasad Mahajan and upazila committee general secretary Dr Ashok Kumar Deb.
