Sree Gokulam Kerala beat Bashundhara Kings 3-1

DHAKA, Oct 22, 2019 (BSS) – Henry scored a brace as Sree Gokulam Kerala Football Club of India beat Bashundhara Kings by 3-1 goals in their group B opening match of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football tournament held on Tuesday at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram.

In the day’s match, Henry opened an account for the Indian side scoring the first goal in the 25th minute while Garcia doubled the lead for the visitors scoring the second goal in the 31st minute.

Henry further widened the team’s margin scoring his second and third for the team in the 46th minute while substitute midfielder Motin Mia reduced the margin for Bashundhara Kings in the 74th minute of the match.

Bashundhara Kings, in their debut season in top-flight football, won the Bangladesh Premier League and the Independence Cup, tried to stage a fight back in the second half launching some scoring chances but failed to convert those any into a goal.

Sree Gokulam Kerala Football Club dominated the proceeding and notched their deserving victory while Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings were off colored, especially in the first half, on the day.

Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against I-League champions Chennai City FC while Sree Gokulam Kerala Football meet Terengganu Football Club meet in their respective next group B matches scheduled to be held on Thursday (October 24).
