Speaker off to Serbia to join IPU assembly
DHAKA, Oct 11, 2019 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury left here today for Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly.
The 141st IPU assembly will be held October 13-17 in Belgrade, an official release said.
The Speaker will lead the Bangladesh parliamentary delegation in the assembly, it added.
Other members of the delegation are JS Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Mia, Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, Whip Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on Commerce Tofail Ahmed, Parliamentary Standing Committee Chair-person on Industries Amir Hossain Amu, lawmakers Md Habibe Millat, Fahmi Gulandaz Babel, Abdus Salam Murshedi, Pir Fazlur Rahman, Subarna Mustafa and Shabnam Jahan and Parliament Secretariat Senior Secretary Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan.
