Journalist Sattar laid to eternal rest

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 25, 2019 (BSS) – Elderly journalist Abdus Sattar was laid
to eternal rest at Shershah Journalists Cooperative Housing society graveyard
after Maghrib prayers this evening.

Abdus Sattar, a permanent member of Chattogram Press Club (CPC) and
Chattogram Union of Journalists (CUJ), died of cardiac arrest at the age of
72 at a private hospital in city this morning.

His body was taken to CPC premises this afternoon where journalists of all
strata particularly, members of CPC and CUJ paid homage by placing wreaths at
his coffin.

Earlier, his first Namaj-e-Janaza, was held in front of CPC premises, at 3
pm and second one on Jamiatul Falah Complex mosque premises after Asar
prayers.

He left behind his wife, three sons, a daughter, a large number of
professional colleagues, host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

He worked in the daily Azadi as chief editing assistant till his death.

Leaders of CPC, CUJ, Bangladesh Federal union of Journalists and
Chattogram Journalists Cooperative Housing Society in separate statements
expressed profound shock at the death of Sattar.

They conveyed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and prayed
eternal peace of the departed soul.
