Reading competition on Bangabandhu’s Unfinished Memoirs begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Aug 24, 2019 (BSS) – A five-day reading competition on Bangabandhu’s Unfinished Memoirs will begin tomorrow marking the National Mourning Day.

Academic and Creative Publishers Association of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Pustak Prokashok O Bikreta Samity is organizing the competition under the auspice of the National Book Center with the help of Cultural Affairs Ministry.

National Book Center Director Minar Mansur today told BSS that Cultural Affairs Secretary Dr Md Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal will inaugurate the competition at the National Theatre Plaza of the Shilpakala Academy in city’s Segunbagicha area at 10.00 am tomorrow which will continue till August 29.

A total of 50 students from five schools from Dhaka and Narayanganj will take part in the competition.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid will address the closing ceremony as the chief guest and distribute prizes among the winners at the National Experimental Theatre Hall of the Shilpakala Academy on August 29.

Besides, a book exhibition on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be held at the same venue at that time.
