Hassle-free land management services stressed

RANGPUR, Aug 24, 2019 (BSS) – Officials and employees of the land ministry ought to perform their duties with transparency and knowledge to become efficient forces for contributing better to land management system.

“The duties and responsibilities of officials and employees of the land ministry are very high in reaching land-related services to people in a hassle-free manner,” Secretary to the Ministry of Land Md. Maksudur Rahman Patwary said today.

Patwary was addressing a training programme titled “Integrity in transparent, skilled and public-friendly land management” organised by the district administration at town hall auditorium here as the chief guest.

The land-service provider officials and employees, including Assistant Commissioners (Land), Union Land Officers and Kanoongos from all eight upazilas of the district participated in the training program.

Divisional Commissioner KM Tariqul Islam addressed the program as special guest with Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan in the chair.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rev) Sharif Md. Foyezul Alam delivered the welcome speech narrating goals and objectives of arranging the event. Assistant Commissioners (Land) of different upazilas, former commander of district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad Mosaddek Hossain Bablu and Office Secretary of district Awami League Tauhidur Rahman Tutul spoke.

The speakers urged all land-related service providers to become skilled enough to deliver services to people adopting digitised e-management system and eliminating all sorts of corruption and red-tapism.

The divisional commissioner said people are reaping benefits by getting land-related services like e-mutation, paying land development tax, submitting applications for khas land and review petitions and quicker disposals of their prayers.

The chief guest said the present government is showing zero tolerance against corruption and all sorts of irregularities to build an economically advanced country.
