Imran for suitable initiative to find new labour market

DHAKA, Aug 20, 2019 (BSS) – Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment
Minister Imran Ahmed today called for suitable initiatives to find new labour
markets and increase remittance flow.

“There should be initiative to find new labor markets and increase
remittance flow… Besides, proper labor migration should be ensured as we
want to see Bangladesh as a poverty free country on time,” he said.

The Minister was addressing the inauguration programme of the 3-day ‘Labor
Welfare Conference-2019′ at the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas
Employment, an official release said.

Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment organized the
programme with its Secretary Rownaq Jahan in the chair. Parliamentary
Standing Committee Chairman of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment
Ministry Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Lawmaker Ayesha Ferdous, Wage
Earner’s Welfare Board Director General Gazi Mohammad Julhash and Bureau of
Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) Director General Md Salim Reza also
spoke on the occasion.

Referring to steps taken by the present government to create skilled
manpower, the minister said the authority concerned would have to monitor the
problems and possibilities of the Bangladeshi workers in the international
labor market for ensuring a safe workplace.
