DHAKA, May 14, 2018 (BSS) – Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today said leather goods made by the country should be maintained international standard.
“Bangladeshi leather goods have huge demand across the world …so the products made by the country should to be international standard,” said the Speaker.
The Speaker said this as the chief guest while addressing the inaugural function of e-commerce portal arranged by Goose Limited at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh, Khamarbari here.
Shirin said: “It is a very important to ensure the quality of the leather products along with fixing its price …. Thus, Bangladeshi leather goods will be recognised as the best products in the international market.
The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has enacted women friendly policy for women empowerment to create women entrepreneurs, the speaker mentioned.
She, however, said women training and enabling their capacity would ensure financial empowerment of women.
Former advisor to the caretaker government Rokeya Afzal Rahman and managing director of the LabAid group Dr AM Shamim spoke at the function as the special guests.
