BSC to train 51 female cadets first time

DHAKA, AUG 7, 2019 (BSS) – For the first time, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) will provide training to 51 female cadets from Bangladesh Marine Academy for recruitment in BSC.

It was decided in the 6th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Shipping at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here today, said an official press release.

The meeting was informed that 14 women officers and 19 female cadets have already been recruited to six ships.

The meeting had an elaborate discussion on Shipping Ministry, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation and National River Protection Committee’s overall project implementation and development.

The meeting was informed that six new ships were added to the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation’s fleet.

With committee chairman Maj. (retd.) Rafiqul Islam Bir Uttam in the chair, committee members State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Shajahan Khan, Ranajit Kumar Ray, Mahfuzur Rahman, M Abdul Latif, Dr. Shamil Uddin Ahmed Shimul, Aslam Hossain and SM Shahjada attended the meeting.
