Colonel Taher was great patriot: speakers
DHAKA, July 21, 2019 (BSS) – Speakers at a discussion today said Colonel Taher was a great patriot and Ziaur Rahman was a traitor.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasod) arranged the discussion at the Shaheed Colonel Taher auditorium here marking the 43rd death anniversary of Taher, who was commander of Sector 11 during the 1971 Liberation War.
Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Jasod General Secretary Shirin Akhter, MP, journalist Shafiqur Rahman, MP, Jasod standing committee member and Taher’s younger brother Professor Dr Anwar Hossain, Gonotontri Party General Secretary Dr Shahadat Hossain and Jasod Joint General Secretary Nurul Akhter, among others spoke.
Jasod Vice-President Mir Hossain Akhter chaired it.
Shirin Akhter called upon the all patriotic individuals and forces to implement the dreams of all martyrs of the country.
Shafiqur Rahman demanded investigation of all killings inside armed forces during the regime of Ziaur Rahman.
