Brothers Union earn emphatic win in BPL
DHAKA, July 2, 2019 (BSS)- Brothers Union Club registered an emphatic 5-2
victory over Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in a match of the Bangladesh Premier
League (BPL) Football held on Tuesday at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
In the day’s match, Ariful and Moga scored a race each in the 15th and 39th
and 20th and 62nd minutes respectively while Rabby supported them with a lone
goal in the 77th minute.
On the other hand, Emil and Ebou netted one goal apiece for Sheikh Jamal
in the 27th and 38th minutes respectively.
With this win, the Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club collated 13 points
from 17 matches while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club remained at their previous
credit of 21 points playing 18 matches.
In the day’s second match, Saif Sporting Club forced Mohammedan Sporting
Club to play a 1-1 goal held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
In the day’s match, foreign recruit Otabek put Saif Sporting ahead in the
33rd minute after the lemon break. Rabbi restored the parity for Mohammedan
in the 83rd minute of the match.
With the day’s outcome, Saif improved their tally with 37 points from 18
matches while Mohammedan also bagged 14 points from 17 outings.
