10 jailed for unhygienic food production in city
DHAKA, June 19, 2019 (BSS)-A mobile court here on Tuesday sentenced ten persons to two years imprisonment each for using tannery waste in the unhygienic production of poultry and fish feed in city’s Hazaribag area.
Court sources said the mobile court led by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam awarded the punishment after examining relevant evidences.
The court fined different factories Taka 24 lakh for producing unhygienic foods and also seized about 2,800 tonnes of toxic poultry and fish feed.
During this time, a total of six factories of poultry and fish feed were sealed.
Earlier, an elite force of RAB-2 along with Departments of Livestock Services and Fisheries also helped mobile court conduct the drive that started from last night.
