Commemorative stamps, souvenir sheet released marking ICC World Cup

DHAKA, June 3, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Post Office today released two Taka 10 commemorative postage stamps and one souvenir sheet with the value of Taka 40 marking the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Post and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar released the postage stamps and souvenir sheet at the Post and Telecommunications Division Conference Room, said a Ministry press release.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said releasing postage stamp and souvenir sheet marking the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is a very significant and timely initiative as cricket World Cup is a matter of big pride for Bangladesh.

He said, Bangladesh of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is now not only a country with rapid development programmes, but also with the sincere efforts and patronization of her, the golden sons of Bangladesh are progressing well in sports too, writing tales of bravery of the Bangalees in the cricket World Cup.

After the formal release by the Minister, the commemorative stamps, first-day cover and data card were on sale from the philatelic bureau of Dhaka GPO. Later, the commemorative stamps, first-day cover and data card would be on sale from all the post offices across the country.

Post and Telecommunications Division Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas and Director General of Bangladesh Post Office Sudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra were present on the occasion.
