DHAKA, May 24, 2019 (BSS) – Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Police has arrested a top leader of banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir Jahidul Ialam Jahid from Bibir Bagicha area of Jatrabari in the city.
Jahid, 37, chief of Dawha wing of Dhaka City East and one of the members of media wing of the banned outfit.
The police also recovered extremist books and leaflets, anti-government leaflets, posters, a laptop and four mobile phones.
ATU Police Super (legal and media) Mahiduzzaman confirmed it to BSS saying that acting on a tip-off Jahid was arrested on Thursday.
