FARIDPUR, March 29, 2018 (BSS) – Election of 11 Union Parishad in Faridpur sadar upazila was held peacefully amid much festivity and enthusiasm.
A total of 37 chairman candidates, 327 members and 113 female candidates for reserved seats contested in the election.
The upazilas are Aliabad, Ambikapur, Ishan Gopalpur, North Channel, Kanaipur, Krishnanagar, Kuijuri, Gerda, Char Madhabdia, Machchar and Decreer Char.
There were a total of 2 lakh 9 hundred and 3 voters of the unions of 11 unions in Sadar upazila.
District Election Officer Habibur Rahaman said the election was held peacefully. People cast their votes spontaneously, he added.
