JS body for development of state-owned industries
DHAKA, MAY 7, 2019 (BSS) – The parliamentary standing committee on labor and employment today made recommendation for development of the state-owned industries.
The recommendation was made at the 2nd meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with chairman of the committee Md Mujibul Haque in the chair, said an official press release.
Members of the committee state minister for labor and employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, Shahjahan Khan, Md Kamrul Islam and Md Nazrul Islam attended the meeting.
The committee had an elaborate discussion on the development of new pay-scale of state-owned industries and due arrears of state-owned jute mills.
The committee made a recommendation to fix the due within May 17 and to provide the workers with pay slip from May 18.
The meeting decided to transfer one of the three labour courts from Dhaka to Gazipur. It also asked the concerned authority to submit a complete report on the fire accident of old part of Dhaka city as the earlier one was not accurate.
Senior officials of the ministry and the Jatiya Sangsad were present at the meeting, the release added.
