Holidays of physicians in coastal areas cancelled
DHAKA, May 02, 2019 (BSS) – Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has decided to cancel holidays of physicians of concerned districts and upazilas where the super cyclone ‘Fani’ could hit.
The decision came up at a preparatory meeting held today with all the officers related to the Directorate of Health.
Besides, a total of 2,362 medical teams have been formed to combat the cyclone Fani in Barishal, Chattoram and Khulna divisions. These teams will work to deal with any untoward situation while necessary medicines for 10,000 people from the World Health Organization have been sent to every division across the country.
Meanwhile, 497 medical teams have been formed in Barishal division while 1048 in Chattogram and 817 in Khulna divisions.
District or upazila based local control rooms have been opened in Barishal, Khulna and Chattoram divisions while these control rooms will always keep in touch with ‘National Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room’ under the Directorate of Health.
