Hanif urges BNP leaders to take oath as MPs

DHAKA, April 26, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Acting General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today called upon the BNP leaders elected to parliament for taking oath and joining the house.

“BNP decided not to take oath… They will lose the last chance if they do not come to parliament within April 30…. So, I am urging the BNP leaders who were elected to the election of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad to come to the parliament,” he said.

He made the remarks while addressing the reception of four women MPs at the AL central office in city’s Bangabandhu Avenue.

People will not vote for them (BNP) in future if they do not go to the parliament, he said, adding that BNP should respect the countrymen’s decision in the 11th parliament elections held last year.

Presided over by Mohila Awami League Dhaka City South Unit President Sabera Begum, the programme was attended, among others, by Dhaka South Awami League General Secretary Shah Alam Murad, Mohila Awami League president Shafia
Khatun and General Secretary Mahmuda Begum.

Women MPs- Fazilatunnesa Indira, Nargis Rahman, Shabnam Shila and Jinnatul Bakia – were accorded the reception.
