NARAYANGANJ, April 22, 2019 (BSS)- Two RMG workers were killed and seven others injured in an explosion caused by a gas pipeline leakage in a residence at Sawghat area under Rupganj upazila of the district in the wee hours of today.
The deceased were identified as Shamim, 30, hailed from Meherpur district and Helal Biswas alias Rakib, 25 hailed from Jhalakathi district.
Station in-charge of Kanchan Fire Service under Rupganj Abdul Mannan told reporters that the explosion at the ground floor of the three- storied building might be caused by gas pipeline leakage at 3am on Monday, leaving two people dead and seven others wounded.
Of the injured, six were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit and two of them were declared dead, he said adding three others injured were taken to a local clinic.
