14-kg gold seized at HSIA
DHAKA, April 20, 2019 (BSS) – The customs intelligence personnel seized 120 gold bars weighing 14 kilograms from a toilet of a US-Bangla aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here this afternoon.
On a tip-off, members of the customs intelligence recovered 120 gold bars from a toilet of a US-Bangla aircraft (flight no BS-214) that landed at the airport at 4.30 pm, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Director General Md Shahidul Islam told BSS.
The estimated value of the seized gold bars is Taka around 7 crore, he said.
Legal steps have been taken under the customs act in this regard, Shahidul said, adding, however, none was arrested in this connection.
