Veteran AL leader Abdul Aziz passes away
DHAKA, April 8, 2019 (BSS)-Veteran Awami League (AL) leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz died of old-age complications at his Gulshan residence in the city this evening.
He was 99.
AL acting general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said Abdul Aziz, close associate of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, breathed his last around 6 pm.
He is survived by a son, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers.
Aziz, hailed from Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat district, was agriculture minister of the Bangabandhu cabinet.
He was founder president of the greater Khulna unit of Awami League.
