3 killed in gunfight with police in Teknaf
COX’S BAZAR, April 6, 2019 (BSS) – Three youths allegedly involved in criminal activities and wanted in a series of cases were killed in a gunfight with police in the early hours of today, police said.
“The incident occurred on the hills adjoining the Muchni Rohingya refugee camp at the Hnila union parishad under Teknaf upazila,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Pradip Kumar Das told BSS.
The deceased were identified as Nur Alam, 23, Mohammed Zubair, 20, and Hamid Ullah, 20. They were accused in several criminal cases, including murder, robbery and kidnapping.
Three policemen were also injured in the gunfight, the OC added.
Police recovered four guns and seven bullets from the spot.
