President goes to India tomorrow

DHAKA, March 7, 2018 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid will leave here for India tomorrow on a four-day visit to attend the founding ceremony of International Solar Alliance (ISA) in New Delhi.

“A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, carrying the President and his entourage members, will leave Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport for Guwahati of Assam at about 1 pm tomorrow,” President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS today.

The President will be received by Governor of Assam Jagdish Mukhi at Guwahati International Airport at about 1:30pm (local time).

He will stay at Viavanta by Taj in Assam where the Assam Governor Jagdish and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal are scheduled to pay a courtesy call on him.

The governor of Assam will host a dinner at Radisson in honour of President Abdul Hamid.

On Friday morning, the President will leave Guwahati for Balat by a helicopter of Indian Air Force. He is scheduled to visit Tagore’s residence in Shilong and Labon in the afternoon.

President Hamid will visit various places of the Indian state of Meghalaya, where he stayed for days during the 1971 Liberation War.

On Saturday, President Hamid will fly to New Delhi where Indian President Ram Nath Kovind would host a dinner party for his Bangladeshi counterpart at Rastrapati Bhaban.

He will join the founding ceremony of International Solar Alliance (ISA) at the Cultural Center of Presidential Building in New Delhi on Sunday. He is scheduled to address the plenary session of the ISA Summit 2018.

The Bangladesh President will attend a lunch hosted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi.

He is scheduled to return home on March 12.
