Sirajganj AL leader Aminul Ghani Sircar laid to rest
DHAKA, March 14, 2019 (BSS)- Aminul Ghani Sircar Jupiter, elder brother of Deputy Chief News Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Rahul Ghani Sircar Jyoti, was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard at Belkuchi upazila in Sirajganj district after Esha prayers today.
He passed away in the morning while undergoing treatment in a city hospital at the age of 58, family sources said.
Jupiter is survived by his wife, only son and a host of relatives and admirers.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held at Sirajganj town Jame Mosque after Maghrib prayers today. Later, his body was taken to Tamai village in Belkuchi Upazila for burial at family graveyard after holding second janaza at Tamai Jame Mosque after Esha prayers.
Jupiter, a senior leader of Sirajganj district Awami League (AL), wounded seriously in an attack of BNP-Jamaat in 2001. He was forest and environment secretary of Sirajganj district unit of AL. He had played a significant role during the anti-autocracy movement.
He was president of Sirajganj district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League and VP and GS of Sirajganj College Students’ Union.
In a message of condolence, BSS unit of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) expressed deep shock at the death of Aminul.
Unit chief AZM Sajjad Hossain Sabuj and Deputy Unit chief Kazi Golam Alauddin (Tanvir Aladin) prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
