Two-day art workshop ends in capital

DHAKA, Feb 28, 2018 (BSS)- The two-day unique and inspirational art workshop, participated by 35 painters of the country, concluded here today leaving an encouragement to use jute-made canvases instead of papers for art-works.

The workshop, organized by the Textile and Jute Ministry at the Art Gallery of Shilpakala Academy ahead of the National Jute Day, was facilitated by renowned artists Hahsem Khan and Anisuzaman and aimed at popularizing jute and diversifying use of jute products.

State Minister for Textile and Jute Minister Mirza Azam attended the closing ceremony urging all to make use of diversified jute products.

Artists and actress Bipasha Hayat, one of the participants, said “It gave me a unique feeling that I am working on a natural canvas.”

She hoped that this kind of initiative will help revive the past glory of the golden fibre.
