Govt working to build ‘Digital and Developed Country’: Jabber

NETRAKONA, Feb 15, 2019 (BSS)- Post, Telecommunication and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar said here today the present government has been putting its best and sincere efforts for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to build Bangladesh as a “Digital and Developed Country”.

“The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly with sincerity for turning Bangladesh as a “Digital and Developed Country” soon with developing all the villages through connecting internet networks in line with the Vision 2021 and 2041 ” he said.

The minister was addressing an inaugural function as the chief guest of a daylong workshop on “implementation of SDGs in local level” at local public hall here.

Office of divisional commissioner in Mymensingh with the cooperation of governance innovation unit of prime minister’s office and Netrakona district administration jointly organized the workshop with divisional commissioner in Mymensingh Mahmud Hasan in the chair.

The function was addressed, among others, by state minister for fisheries and livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, principal coordinator (SDG affairs) of prime minister’s office Abul Kalam Azad, member of the public service commission Uzzal Bikash Datta and secretary of the prime minister’s office Sazzadul Hasan and deputy commissioner of Netrakona Main-UL-Islam.

Mustafa Jabbar underlined the need for concerted efforts of all especially public representatives and officials for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for building up the country as a “digital and developed country” with ensuring all modern facilities and latest digital technologies to all.

Speaking at the function, state minister for fisheries and livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru called upon the public representatives and officers to raise above their self-interest and work with utmost sincerity and honesty for achieving the SDGs and building up the country as a “Sonar Bangla” as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

A total of 100 participants, including government officers, public representatives and journalists, took part at the workshop.

Earlier, Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated as the chief guest a training course under Sheikh Kamal IT training and incubation center installation project on Netrakona government women college premises here today.

State minister for fisheries and livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru and secretary of the prime minister’s office Sazzadul Hasan addressed the inaugural function as special guests.
