DU to observe Martyred Intellectuals Day tomorrow

DHAKA, Dec 13, 2018 (BSS) – The Dhaka University (DU) authority will
observe the Martyred Intellectuals Day tomorrow in a befitting manner.

A series of programs have been taken to observe the day, said a press
release today.

The programmes include: hoisting of black flags, placing wreaths to the
Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard, offering special prayers and holding
discussions on the supreme sacrifice of the most enlightened sons of the
soil.

The black flags will be hoisted at all the major buildings of the
university at around 6:30 am.

University teachers, students, officers and employees will be gathered at
the premises of Aparajeya Bangla and they will pay tribute to the Martyred
Intellectuals Graveyard near university’s central mosque, memorials near
Jagannath hall and others memorials in the different residential areas on the
campus.

Later, they will go to Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial Museum to
place wreaths. A Discussion meeting will also be held at Teacher- Student
Center (TSC) auditorium at 11am.

Special prayers will be offered at the Central Mosque of the university
along with the other mosques and places of worship of different faiths for
praying peace upon the souls of martyred intellectuals.
