BNP man held with petrol bombs in city

DHAKA, Dec 8, 2018 (BSS) – The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
today arrested organising secretary of BNP under ward-23 in the city with
seven petrol bombs from Rampura area.

Acting on a tip-off, the RAB-3 members conducted a special drive in Rampura
area in the evening when the BNP leader Mirza Hasan Imam along with his
accomplices was making a plan to carry out subversive acts during the
upcoming general election.

Members of the elite force arrested him in possession of seven petrol bombs
from the spot. However, his cohorts managed to flee away from the scene.

Commanding Officer of RAB-3 Lieutenant Colonel Emranul Hasan told BSS that
the arrestee BNP leader had held a preparation meeting for sabotage during
the upcoming parliamentary polls.

“We had information that a vested quarter is planning to carryout sabotage
centering the national elections,” he said.

Filing of a case in this connection is under process.
