DHAKA, Nov 22, 2018 (BSS) – The Qulkhwani of eminent journalist and Managing Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Shahriar Shahid will be held after Asr prayers at his Bashundhara Residential Area residence in the city tomorrow.
All relatives, friends and well wishers have been requested to attend the Qulkhwani of Shahriar Shahid at house no-272, Block-H, I Block check post, Sonia Ferdousi Sobhan road, of Bashundhara Residential Area in the city, Shahriar’s family sources said.
Shahriar, son of former editor of now defunct Bangladesh Times AKM Shahidul Haque, breathed his last at a city hospital on November 17 at the age of 55.
He is survived by his wife, only son and a host of relatives and admirers.
He was laid to eternal rest on November 19 after Maghreb prayers at his family graveyard at Doukar Char village under Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district.
Shahriar, a founding member of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), wrote over 30 books based-on interviews of the gallantry award winning freedom fighters.
He also made some documentaries on the Liberation War and wrote region-based history of Liberation War.
