PM accorded warm ceremonial reception at Rastrapati Bhaban

NEW DELHI, April 8, 2017 (BSS)- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in New Delhi on a four-day official visit to India, was accorded a warm ceremonial reception by Indian Premier Narendra Modi at the Forecourt of Rastrapati Bhaban here this morning.

On her arrival at the Forecourt of the Presidential Palace around 9:15 am local time, the Bangladesh prime minister was received by Narendra Modi.

A horse mounting team of the President’s Body Guards escorted the PM’s motorcade from the Rastrapati Bhaban gate to the Forecourt.

Later, Sheikh Hasina was given a guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent drawn from three services of the Indian Armed Forces. The national anthems of two countries were played at that time. Sheikh Hasina then inspected the guard and took salute.

Then the Indian prime minister introduced his cabinet colleagues to Sheikh Hasina at the presentation line. The Bangladesh premier also introduced her entourage members to Modi.

Indian Rural Development Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, Home Minister Hangsha Raj, Minister for Power Piyush Goyal, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, State Minister for Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh, State Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriya, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat and Lt. Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal were present.

Bangladesh’s Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Law Minister Anisul Haq, Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and members of her entourage were present.

Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a four-day official visit at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
