Next election as per Constitution: Nasim

COX’S BAZAR, Dec 25, 2017 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim today said the next general election will be held under the incumbent government in line with the country’s Constitution.

“No experiment with the next general polls would be allowed at all . . . the polls will be held as per the Constitution on the month of victory next year” he said while speaking at a cheque distribution programme for journalists at Cox’s Bazar Press Club.

Cox’s Bazar Journalists’ Union organised the programme with its President Abu Taher in the chair.

Saimum Sarwar Kamal MP, Asheq Ullah Rafik MP, Deputy Commissioner M Ali Hossain and Cox’s Bazar Mayor Mahbubur Rahman spoke, among others.

“The recently-held Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) polls proved the capability of the Election Commissioner for holding free, fair and credible parliamentary elections across the country,” Nasim said.
