KCC mayor for environment-friendly development

KHULNA, Oct 25, 2018 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC)
Talukder Abdul Khaleque here today urged researchers to give maximum priority
to environment-friendly development and innovation.

He came up with the call while addressing the inauguration session of an
International seminar held at Liakat Ali Auditorium of Acharya Jagadish
Chandra Basu Academic Building at Khulna University (KU).

Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline of the university organised the
two-day seminar under HEQEP CP-4035 project with KU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof
Dr Md Fayequzzaman in the chair.

Observing that research can play a key role in protecting environment
and minimising pressure on Sunderbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest,
Khaleque said.

Member of University Grant Commission (UGC) Prof Dr Md Akhtar Hossain,
dean of Live Science School AK Fazlul Haque and head of Forestry and Wood
Technology Discipline Prof Dr Md Enamul Haque, among others, spoke at the
inaugural session of the seminar.

Researchers and Scientists from different countries, including Japan,
Indonesia and Malyasia, presented their research papers at the seminar.

Over 200 students, teachers, researchers and scientists of KU and
different universities are participating in the seminar.
