Stocks close the week up
DHAKA, Oct 25, 2018 (BSS)-Stocks closed the week up today as all indices on Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges witnessed marginal rise with conscious participation of investors in the day’s trading.
The turnover, an important indicator of the market, and trade volume increased in DSE. The turnover rose to Tk 425.11 crore from Wednesday’s Tk 368 crore and the daily trade volume increased to 11.64 crore shares from previous session’s 9.83 crore share.
The broader DSEX index of DSE closed the day with 5.71 points up to settle at 5,282.04. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 4.04 points up to settle at 1876.06 and with 5.53 points up to close at 1223.79.
At DSE, out of the day’s 338 traded securities, 137 gained against 159 losing issues. The five top gaining issues were SK Trims, Miracle Industries, Active Fine, Khulna Power, Indo-Bangla Pharma. Five top losers were Gemini Sea Food, Lankabangla Finance, Savar Refractory, Dulamia Cotton and Bangladesh Building.
In the port city Chattogram, the CSE also closed upward with its All Share Price Index – CASPI -gained 31.40 points to close at 16,247.38.
The gainers outnumbered the losers in the day’s trading as 98 issues closed up against 96 losing securities on the CSE.
The port city bourse traded 70.25 lakh shares and mutual fund units worth Tk 20.29 crore in turnover.
